William M. Matz, Jr.
Major General, US Army, Retired
President
Bill assumed the position of President of the Association in
January 2005 after a distinguished career in the military and
the private sector. During his Army career, General Matz saw combat
in Vietnam as an infantry company commander where he was wounded
in action during the 1968 TET Offensive. He served as a staff
officer or commander in six different Army divisions, as plans
officer of the Pacific Fleet's amphibious ready group, in Panama
during Operation Just Cause, and as Executive Secretary to the
Secretary of Defense.
In the private sector, General Matz's senior management positions
included oversight of worldwide Army programs as a Vice President
for Raytheon Company and as General Manager of Northrop Grumman's
Saudi Arabian National Guard program. He was appointed by the
President of the United States to the Veterans Disability Benefits
Commission in the fall of 2005. An experienced leader and advocate
for the uniformed services, his familiarity with Capitol Hill
serves NAUS members and indeed all uniformed services members
and veterans well.
Mrs. Tamea A. Boone
Treasurer & Director of Membership Services
Tamie has a degree in Accounting with more than 26 years of progressive
management level positions. Her understanding of military benefits
and issues comes from the view of a military spouse, and her many
years of service on the NAUS staff. Her husband is a retired career
Marine.
Mike Boone
LtCol, US Marine Corps, Retired
Secretary & Director of Administration
Mike has more than 35 years of leadership and managerial expertise in a wide variety of organizational settings. He is a leader in the development of large-scale computer-based models designed to improve the logistics and manpower processes of the Marine Corps. Mike has demonstrated a proven ability in business process improvement and long-term business strategy formulation. His experience in military and civilian management positions is characterized by increasing responsibility, minimal supervision and wide latitude to interpret policy, make decisions and commit resources. Mike’s recent experience includes more than a dozen years of association management at the vice president and senior director levels. He holds a BS in Business Administration and an MBA.
Steve Hein

Director of Marketing
Steve is a Certified Marketing Executive with 20+ years
experience in marketing and advertising. Steve's experience includes
military recruitment marketing while serving on active duty, and
executive-level marketing positions in the higher education, mail-order
pharmacy and publishing industries.

Mr. Rick Jones

Rick served as a medical specialist during the Vietnam War era. Before joining NAUS, Rick held a similar position for AMVETS after serving more than 20 years as a legislative aide on the staffs of several Senators and members of the House of Representatives. His service on Capitol Hill included four years as professional staff on funding issues related to veterans affairs' budget and appropriations.
Morgan Brown

Senior Legislative Assistant
Since retiring from the Air Force in 2002, this former night stalker (K-9 Handler and First Sergeant) has been hounding members of Congress, DoD, and the Administration to fulfill its obligations to members of the Uniformed Services. Morgan was the manager of military and government relations for the Air Force Sergeants Association prior to assuming duties here at NAUS.
John "Jack" Chmielewski

Director of Chapter Management - Legislative Assistant
Jack finished his Navy Reserve career with 12 years at Navy Recuriting Command where he worked Operations and Congressional Response. After that he attended to veteran's issues on Capitol Hill with another veterans organization before going back to the Navy as a civilian and then with the Army as a Management Analyst. His wide range of experience in the military, recruiting and veterans advocacy make him a good fit for NAUS.

Mike's our resident "spook," having served in the Naval Security Group as a Russian linguist for 23 years. He has been in the D.C. area working as a lobbyist for veterans, military retired members and their families, and senior citizens since 1998.

Charito has 10+ years of experience in a variety of areas including
financial analysis and sales processes. She is working on her
graduate certificate in accounting, leading towards a Master's
degree. Charito is an avid volunteer, giving her time to the community
wherever her husband's Air Force career takes her.

Charles Partridge

Chuck Partridge served as the NAUS Legislative Counsel for many
years during the late 1980s and 1990s after a distinguished military
career. He was instrumental in leading the fight for COLAs and
TRICARE For Life. Col. Partridge was awarded the prestigious "Hero
of TRICARE Award" in which he was cited for his work ensuring
that "TRICARE sets the standard for American health care,
serves the best people in the world, and improves every day."
A fixture on Capitol Hill, and a staunch veteran in the fight
for your benefits, Chuck participates regularly as our on-call
consultant on legislative and other issues.
